Mary Boyde, Executive Director

Hi. My name is Mary Boyde and I’m your Executive Director here at Seven Hills Senior Living. I will bring a friendly, hands-on approach to building strong relationships with you and your family members. I am eager to get to know all of you, but it takes time to meet and speak to everyone individually. Here’s a little about me until we meet in person.

I’ve lived in Minnesota since 2005, but I was born and raised in Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania (PA), a small town in Western, PA, right on the border of Ohio.  I’ve also lived in Colorado, Maryland, Virginia, and North Carolina.  People say they can still hear a bit of a Pittsburgh accent and some even say they hear a bit of a southern drawl in my voice. What I hope you’ll hear is the enthusiasm and joy I feel from being able to spend my days with all of you.

Many years ago, I left a successful career in computer science to be a stay-at-home Mom and devoted that time to raising my three boys and starting my own small business. My boys are now men--Matthew is 23, Christopher is 25, and Jonathan is 29. In anticipation of an empty nest, I did some deep soul searching and discovered my second passion and calling in life. The revelation that I am meant to lead and manage communities like Seven Hills Senior Living, led to the most enjoyable and fulfilling learning experience of my life.  I earned my Master of Arts in Health and Human Services Administration, completed a graduate level internship with a large continuing care retirement community in Minneapolis, and obtained NHA licensure.  I’m currently pursuing my Health Services Executive designation and Certification in Elder Law through the Mitchel Hamline School of Law. Learning new and better ways of serving those with whom I am privileged to work will always be important to me.

My interests are varied. I love anything related to art…dance, literature, music, theater, and painting. Carol Ann Duffy and Pablo Neruda are my current favorite poets. Sewing, reading, cooking, gardening, and home remodeling projects are some of my favorite hobbies, but my most favorite activity of all is finding fun fashion at thrift stores. Spending time outdoors is great fun too, especially if it’s on a beach on a warm and sunny day.  That’s a bit about me. I can’t wait to learn all about you in the near future.
